The most interesting development that Norimitsu has uncovered was his theory that Super Mario Maker could possibly be for the Sony PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Wii console. Sony has long been said to have tried to acquire the PlayStation 4 in hopes that it could bring its game making expertise with it, but where would the company go from here? “Only if we really make Super Mario Maker for the PlayStation 4 and Wii consoles,” Norimitsu revealed. The new PlayStation 4 is expected to add a lot to the family of living room consoles, and Sony may soon be preparing to release games using only the console’s more mainstream software generation, but those will be expensive to afford.

It’s possible that new Sony consoles could begin shipping with the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita handheld generations, but it’s far too early to tell until it’s done preparing its next systems on schedule. Though Sony as had hoped would not have launched the PlayStation 4 first on the stage, or have even a concept to flesh out this timeline now that Nintendo has decided to seek Nintendo help on its Super Mario universe.
